Short CV since 2011: Schepens Eye Research Institute , Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA since 2004: Member of the group "Complex Structures in Biology and Cognition" at Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences Study of Psychology and Computer Science at Leipzig University Research interests My current primary research interests focus on the understanding of eye diseases like glaucoma or macular degeneration, in particular the relationship between retinal structure and visual function, the development of novel diagnostic methods using bioinformatics and statistical learning, the prediction (prognosis) of disease progression in the future, the association between retinal parameters and age and life style related diseases. Apart from that, I have been working on all areas of vision science, such as temporal aspects of visual processing, face recognition, optimal adaptive sequential sampling, display technology.
